16 And Recovering

Premiering as a four part documentary series on MTV, this film won the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Journalism Award for 2020, a rare second such award for director Steve Liss. The film tells the story of a year at a public high school for teenagers struggling to recover from substance abuse while earning their high school diploma, slipping seamlessly into their world,  giving them the chance to be seen and share their stories.
